This is one of my favorite tea cups.   The porcelain that the tender violets are painted on is nearly transparent. Light shines through it like a fragile egg shell. Soft green leaves frame the flowers and add highlights. A delft blue swoosh accents the rims of both cup and saucer. Even the handle has been worked delicately to resemble a bamboo stalk trimmed with gold. Hand worked in Japan. Lovely!
