This is a beautiful piece and the story behind it is just as touching.  We acquired this wedding plate from a woman whose grandmother owned it. It is a traditional piece painted by a member of the wedding party to present to the bride. Ribbons were threaded through the worked holes by the bows on the plate and then collected at the top and tied together. At one of the bridal occasions, the plate was used to serve treats. Hand painted blue ribbons and bows form a square, pink roses and gold accents complete the unique plate.
